Meaning and Purpose

There are times in life when nothing is necessarily wrong, yet something still does not feel right. You may have accomplished many of the things that you once thought would make you happy and still find yourself asking, "Is that all there is?" Perhaps you're questioning your career, relationships, priorities, or the direction your life is taking. Major life changes can bring these questions to the surface; however, sometimes they emerge simply because the life you have built no longer feels as meaningful as it once did.

Therapy can provide a place for you to slow down and explore those questions without needing to have immediate answers. Together, we can look at what gives your life meaning, what you value, and whether the way you're living is consistent with those values. This process is not about finding a single purpose or following someone else's definition of a meaningful life. It's about developing a clearer understanding of who you are, what matters to you, and what you want your life to stand for.

My approach is grounded in existential therapy, which places the questions of meaning, purpose, identity, freedom, responsibility, relationships, and choice at the center of the therapeutic process. Sometimes finding greater purpose isn't about making a dramatic change; it may be about seeing your circumstances differently and making more intentional choices within the life you already have. Therapy can help you move from simply going through the motions toward living a life with greater awareness, authenticity, and intention.
