Relationships
Relationships change, sometimes by choice and sometimes in ways we never expected. A marriage may be ending, a long-term relationship may have come to an end, or you may find yourself trying to understand what you want from a relationship that no longer feels the way it once did. Even positive changes - getting married, becoming a parent, an empty nest, or entering a new stage of life - can bring uncertainty and require us to rethink who we are and how we relate to the people around us.
These transitions can bring a complicated mix of emotions: grief, anger, loneliness, relief, uncertainty, or even a sense of losing part of your identity. Therapy can provide a place to work through those emotions while taking an honest look at the patterns and choices that have shaped your relationships. Whether you are trying to repair a relationship, adjust to its ending, or figure out what you want in your next chapter, we can work together to develop greater clarity about where you are and where you want to go.
My approach is grounded in existential therapy, with an emphasis on identity, responsibility, choice, and what makes your life meaningful. Relationship transitions often force us to confront questions we have been able to avoid" Who am I now? What do I want? What do I value? What does a meaningful relationship look like for me? Therapy offers a space to explore these questions without judgment and to move through change with greater awareness, intention, and confidence.
